War memorial proposed for Medjugorje

There are plans to erect a memorial in Medjugorje to remember the dead and missing residents of past wars.

The proposal is to place the memorial in the vicinity of the old church, “a unifying space that connects us all and remembers the past,” said the new pastor of Medjugorje Fr Marinko Ĺ akota in a meeting with parishioners that followed a Mass in memory of martyred friars from Medjugorje

The memorial will be inscribed with the names of the 372 victims from the parish killed and missing during the First and Second World Wars and more recent conflicts.
