Ash Wednesday

“Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel...”

“Peace, peace, peace... only peace...
 with God and each other...”

This was the first message of Our Lady when she “appeared” in Medjugorje for a third day, on June 26, 1981, the Feast of the Birth of John the Baptist.

When John the Baptist “appeared” in “the wilderness” this was his message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.” This was the man the prophet Isaiah spoke of when he said: A voice cries in the wilderness: Prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight.”
John 3 : 1-3

During last Mass Pope urges return to God

Pope Benedict XVI encouraged people across the globe to wholeheartedly return to God during his last [public] Mass today as pontiff of the Catholic Church.

“May the invitation to conversion, to ‘return to God with all our heart,’ resonate strongly in us,” Pope Benedict said at St Peter’s Basilica on Ash Wednesday.

Benedict XVI's homily was his last as the head of the Church after he announced on Monday that he will be resigning on February 28.
